Counting of the Omer

Beth Yeshua Twin Ports has begun the annual Counting of the Omer. This is a Biblical practice (Lev. 23:15-16) where we are instructed to count the intervening days between Passover and Pentecost. The actual start day is sometimes disputed, but the end day always takes us to the Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost). As the Hebrew “day” begins at nightfall, we count in the evening day by day. We chose to join together via a Zoom meeting this year to count off the days. You can join the zoom nightly at 7PM via the following link: Our evening gathering time together is only a short 5 minutes. We count the day in a specific way, and we also have a short devotion with a spiritual challenge. Join us tonight.
